Doctrinal Beliefs

The Scriptures
The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is the final authority for Christian faith and practice. It is living and active. It is the written revelation of God to mankind. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Peter 1:19-21, Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 19, Psalm 1, Isaiah 55:11-12)

God
There is only one and true and living God. He is the creator and sustainer of all that exists. While He is one God, He exists in three distinct persons: God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is a personal God who has made Himself known through the person of His son Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26, Exodus 3:14, 6:2-3, Mark 1:9-11, Jeremiah 10:10, Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 11:6, 12:9, 1 Peter 1:17)

Jesus Christ
Jesus is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for the sins of the world. Jesus rosed from the dead and is coming back again to claim his church and to judge the world. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23; 3:17, 14:33, Luke 1:35; 4:41, Romans 1:3-4, 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18, Revelation 1:13-16, John 3:16)

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is God. He comforts , convicts, sanctifies, and seals all believers in Christ. He bears fruit and abides with believers forever. His presence in believers is a deposit and guarantee that the believer will one day be brought into the full stature of Christ. He guides believers into all truth. The Holy Spirit empowers and gives spiritual gifts to believers for effective ministry. (John 16:8-10, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-9, Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 John 4:13; 5:6-7, Revelation 1:10;22:17, 1 Corinthians 12, Galatians 5:22-23)

Church
The church is the "called out" people of God who have put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. It is made up of men and women who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and have been adopted into the family of God. The church is called to be a witnesses, salt, light, and ambassadors for Christ to the world. Christ is the head of the church with each member being gifted to serve the body and glorify God. (Matthew 16:15-19, Ephesians 4:14-16, Acts 2:41-47, Acts 1:8, Matthew 5:13-16, Romans 8:15-16)

Salvation
Salvation is to be saved or delivered from the power, presence, and penalty of sin. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation results in transformation for the individual which ultimately makes him/her a better person and citizen. True salvation is reflected in both faith and works, being both a hearer and a doer of the Word. Salvation guarantees a place in Heaven and gives one the spiritual resources to live a more meaningful and purposeful life on earth. (Ephesians 2:8-10, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Romans 1:16-18, 10:9-10, 13, James 2:14-26, Revelation 3:20, 21:1-22:5, 2 Timothy 1:12, Titus 2:11-14)

Second Coming of Christ
Christ will one day returned to the earth to establish his eternal kingdom. He will judge the world and reward the saints and rule for all eternity. The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church and its encouragement for perseverance in faith and ministry. Those who have been reborn in Christ will live with Him forever. (John 14:1-3, Matthew 24: 29-31, Revelation 19:11-21)

Stewardship
God is the source of all blessings, both temporal and spiritual. All that we have belongs to Him. Believers have a stewardship responsibility to manage our resources in a way that honors God and serves humanity. We are to cheerfully and generously give of our time, talents, and finances to the advance of God's Kingdom and the fulfillment of the mission of the church. (Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, 6:19-10, 16:1-4; 2 Corinthians 8-9; 12:15, Deuteronomy 8:18, Malachi 3:8-12, 1 Peter 1:18-19)
