Dr. Ernest Trice, Sr.
Senior Pastor
Pastor Trice was born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After serving four years as an Infantry soldier
in the US Army, he attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, from which he graduated in 1983 with
a Bachelor Degree in Social Work. Pastor Trice followed his undergraduate training with a three year
matriculation at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx., graduating in 1986 with a
Master of Divinity. He later earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, IN.
Following his Seminary training, he went on to serve as a Pastor or staff person in churches throughout the North
central Texas area. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior during his last six months in the military. Since
then he has exercised his gifts as a pastor, preacher, teacher, seminar and conference speaker. He has also served
as an associational church planter and has participated in several mission trips to Belize Central America. In
April of 2006, Pastor Trice accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor of Takoma Park Baptist Church of Washington, DC.
Since his arrival at Takoma he has placed greater emphasis on the importance of being a mission-minded church and the
need to develop and grow effective ministries. In May of 2009 Pastor Trice and his wife Vivian will be celebrating
their 26th wedding anniversary. They have two adult children, Ernest Jr. and Stephanie Elaine. Pastor Trice enjoys
reading, running, and relaxing with his family. He believes his greatest passion in life is to serve Jesus Christ
with his whole heart. His life verse is Philippians 1:21: "For me to live is Christ. To die is to gain."
